Care

🌤️ Light

• Bright location with plenty of indirect light.
• Avoid direct midday sun.
• The brighter the location, the stronger the leaves will grow and the more pronounced the typical splits will form.

💧 Watering

• Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil are dry.
• Avoid waterlogging, as it can cause root rot.

🌡️ Temperature

• Optimal temperature is 18–28 °C.
• Avoid temperatures below 15 °C if possible.

💦 Humidity

• A humidity of 50–70% promotes healthy growth and large leaves.
• Normal indoor air is usually well tolerated.

🌱 Fertilizing

• From spring to late summer, every 4 weeks with a green plant fertilizer. In winter, adjust the fertilizer ratio depending on the circumstances.
  

Special Features

• With a climbing aid, such as a moss pole, Monstera develops significantly larger leaves than when growing hanging.
• The aerial roots should ideally be attached to a climbing aid or guided into the soil. They serve to absorb water and nutrients and should not be removed regularly.
• The characteristic leaf fenestrations usually only appear on older, well-cared-for plants.
